We Are 17 days old!

Lots has been going on here in our whelping pen! Mom has been taking excellent care of us! She feeds us and gives us baths and keeps our box clean. We love being able to climb all over Mom and get so excited when she comes to care of us.  But in this heat she also takes breaks and sleeps outside our box but soon as one of us starts crying she is here in a flash!

And that is the really big news, our eyes have begun opening and so have our ears. Holy cow is the world seeming different, sometimes it makes us a bit afraid and so we even bark and howl! We are just beginning to walk although its a bit wobbly and we tumble over a lot. We can even sit and sometimes we rest our heads on the bar in our box. Mostly though we still love to pile up in puppy puddles even in this heat!

Jim is holding us last week - we are twice as big now!
Tegan thinks we are cute!
Ann and me are looking eye to eye!
Snuggle time with Jim!

Oh we almost forgot to tell you! Ann and Jim took our portraits today! We are now 17 days old! See our cute little faces? Our eyes just began to open this past Sunday - by next weekend they should be fully open. We can almost see you but just like a human baby, it will be awhile before we truly can see and comprehend what is all around us.

We are one week old!

We are really beginning to get the hang of being puppies. We are starting to get our brown noses, we confidently scoot to mom, and we are  more or less on a rotating schedule so mom gets some well deserved downtime! In a week or so our eyes should open, and we should be able to kind of  sit up. For now life is very cozy and sleepy. Oh and we now have 7 owners getting ready to take us home. All the sisters are spoken for with two of our brothers waiting for new homes. Life sure is good!

Day 2 Puppyhood

Addie's been very attentive and the pups are growing nicely. It's a cycle of eating and sleeping and cleaning and cuddling. It's all rather peaceful around here.

The puppies have arrived!

The ultrasound indicated seven pups, Jim predicted eight, and Sweet Adeline surprised us with nine! They were all born between 6am and noon on June 10th while Daddy Eero was completing in an agility championship!
Momma and Stella
All pups came in between 11 and 12 ounces with one little one a whopping 14 ounces! We have five boys and four girls. Of the pups 4 are spoken for. If you are interested in a pup contact me at anndemarle@gmail.com or through the form on this site.

Puppy Quiz: Can you now determine which puppies who in this morning pics? (OK some are easy because of the collars).

Sure is cozy under Mom!

I got there first.

Best part of being a puppy is cuddling with the sibs.
Both of these have little stars on their rumps.
What we see most of the time.
They love climbing all over mom and three have a distinct mirror pattern on their backs,
Oh boy, being born is a lot of work!
